The presence of the Palapa Ring is highly anticipated by the people of Indonesia, especially in areas where telecommunications networks are currently lacking. A good and qualified telecommunications network will provide many opportunities and increase the potential for regional and community development.

On March 6, 2018, Managing Director of the Telecommunications and Information Acceleration Agency (BAKTI) Bpk. Anang Latief, conducted a socialization on the Operations of the West Palapa Ring Network and its Utilization on Natuna Island. On this occasion, the Director of BAKTI was accompanied by the President Director of PT Palapa Ring Barat, Bpk. Syarif Lumintarjo, Head of the Natuna Communication and Information Agency, Bpk. Raja Darmika along with the Natuna Regional Government conducted a review of the Network Operation Center (NOC) in Natuna Regency and West Palapa Ring Beach Main Hole (BMH) in the Lampa Strait.

The Director of BAKTI also conducts socialization to the community, whether they are fishermen, farmers, entrepreneurs and others, to inform the operational readiness of the West Palapa Ring network and the various benefits that can be obtained by the community, located at the Bunguran Selatan District office.
