PT Palapa Timur Telematics ("PTT") is a subsidiary of PT Mora Telematics Indonesia, as the Implementing Business Entity (BUP) entered into a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia as the Person in Charge of Cooperation Projects (PJPK) related to development and management of the Palapa Ring Fiber Optic Backbone Network for the Eastern Package. PTT is required to build and operate for 15 years a fiber optic network with a certain capacity for the areas agreed in the agreement, namely in the regions of Papua, West Papua, Nusa Tenggara and Maluku.
The Eastern Palapa Ring Package backbone pathway complements the Eastern Indonesia backbone path on the east side, through cities: Waingapu, Sabu, Baa, Kupang, Alor, Wetar, Tiakur, Saumlaki, Tual, Dobo.Timika, Tigi, Kigamani, Enarotali, Sugapa , Ilaga, Kota Mulia, Tiom, Karubaga, Kobakma, Elelim, Jayapura, Waris, Wamena, Kenyamh, Sumohai, Dekai, Oksibil, Waropko, Tanah Merah, Merauke, Kepi, Agats, Nabire, Raisei, Ransiki, Anggi, Bintuni, Tangguh , Teminabuan, Aifat, Sorong, Fef, Manokwari, Numfor, Sorendiweri, Biak, Serui, Botawa, Burmeso, Sarmi.
The construction of this telecommunications network infrastructure is a strategic project to connect regions with the center, accelerate community growth and provide equal opportunities to become developed cities that prosper the community. And more important is to unite the territory of Indonesia which consists of tens of thousands of islands, from large islands to small islands and outer islands of the Republic of Indonesia.
